This is a list of my five favorite wedding venues in Cincinnati. This was a tough choice as the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area has so many beautiful wedding venues to choose from. These five locations range from city views to jaw dropping waterfront venues, so you'll be sure to find a place that fits you perfectly. Reserve these locations quickly as they are also some of the most sought after locations to hold a wedding in all of the queen city.

1. THE RENAISSANCE - Equipped with a beautiful ballroom and reception hall in one, this convenient location is also stunning! Definitely worth looking at this location if you are interesting in booking your venue.

2. THE MONASTERY EVENT CENTER - This property is outfitted with some of the most beautiful covered brick areas and tall ballroom ceilings. I'm always excited to work at the Monastery in Cincinnati, it never disappoints!

4. Music Hall - If you are looking for a jaw dropping location with enough room to hold an army? Look no further! Music hall has some of the best ballroom parties I've ever seen, something about this venue always makes for a good time!

5. ALMS PARK - If you want a view, this is your spot! Alms Park is known for the Ohio river views. You can get married while listening to the water pass below. For an outdoor location, with indoor options, this is definitely a good option.

When planning your wedding you want to get it right, so when hiring a videographer here are a few tips that should hopefully help the process go smoothly. Different companies offer different packages, although these are some of the most common packages you’ll find:

Trailer/Teaser Film (30sec-2min) – Similar to movie or video game trailers, this is typically a brief highlight of the videographer’s favorite moments.

Highlight Film (3-10 Min) – Most couples get this as the final product. How the story is told varies from company to company, but that is the beauty of different videographers. Generally, this highlight covers the entire day from makeup to reception.

Short Film (10-20 Min) – Usually short films take a more nonlinear form. This style allows us to go a bit more in-depth when telling your story.

Same Day Edit (3-5 Min) – Some videographer teams offer same day edits. This allows the couple to play an edit at their wedding reception to guests that may not have be able to go to the wedding. This is particularly popular with small, private weddings, that have larger receptions.

Full Length Feature (30-90min) – If you are interested in truly encasing the emotions of your day, the full-length documentary allows that to happen. Due to the length, this option enables us to tell in-depth stories about your wedding that may be otherwise forgotten. It is truly a movie for your wedding.

Add On/Extras – Most videographers offer options to receive extra footage, re-edit, trailer/teaser film, hard copies sent to in-laws, and many other extras. This vary from videographer to the next, although most are willing to build their packages to fit you.

How far out should I book my wedding vendors?

Many people debate on how far out you should be booking your wedding vendors. In this blog post I am going to break down in our thoughts how far out you should be booking your wedding vendors in order to secure the best vendors at the ideal rates!

So first lets talk about the wedding venue(s). When you are planning your wedding it is super important to book your wedding venue first. Many people are dead set on having their day be in the church of their dreams, but it isn't always possible. Popular wedding venues book out at least a year in advance, so its important to select your location quickly so you'll be sure to be the first one trying to reserve the space. If you are planning on working with a wedding planner, now might be a good time to start looking as well!

A wedding planner can take a lot of the stress out of your day, booking one that you like early is critical to getting the most out of a wedding planner experience. Allowing them plenty of time, 11+ months, to plan the details will allow for your wedding day to run as smooth as possible. Your wedding planner will be able to coordinate with you and their preferred vendors and will begin booking flowers, cakes, and food about 9-10 months away from the wedding date.

10 months is also a good time frame to start booking your media coverage. Photographers and videographers can be rather sought after during the busy wedding seasons, so getting at them early will ensure that you book the creative specialists you really want to be capturing your day. Always remember that you get what you pay for, so definitely don't cheap out in this section to save a few bucks. Your media coverage is one of the few things from your wedding day that you'll always want to look back on, so invest in vendors here that are professional and know how to capture your day. I've seen way to many people have their cousin shoot the video for free, then the couple is too embarrassed to even share it to friends.
